Sawatdee Khrab!

Everyone wanted to know about my trip to Thailand, but insisted I tell the story through a blog. So, in typical Will fashion, I will give a detailed day-by-day narration of our trip. But if I were you, fon't bother reading it, just take a look at the pictures...

Day 1 - 11 September 2008

Our flight from Salt Lake City left early in the morning, and of course Dad had us to the aiport in plenty of time. We were a little nervous about flying on 9-11 and flying to the place where the Tsunami hit a few years back, but with our adventerous spirits we marched on.

Our flight left from Salt Lake City for San Francisco where we transferred for our flight to Tokyo, Japan. I had made this same trip 2 months prior and knew it was a long journey. However, this time Tokyo was only for a brief 3-hour layover. I never knew flying to Tokyo could feel so easy.

Day 2 - 12 September 2008

We met Bonnie, Heather, Sage, Cash and Noah in the airport at Tokyo. We found a nice kid playground for the boys to run around and play at. However, when it was time to board our planes, Mom and I were relieved that we turned left and everyone else turned right. That is the advantage of being an uncle...enjoy the kids when you want and then give them back to their parents.

From Tokyo, it was another 7-hour flight to Bangkok, Thailand. We were flying on ANA, a Japanese airline, so Mom and I were both fish out of water. Mom was most nervous about the food being served on the plane. I was worried that it was going to be HOT. Both of our fears came true!

We landed in Bangkok where we met up with the rest of the crew. Bonnie was our official guide, so we left all of the details to her. She arranged for transportation to our hotel and we were off! I give Bonnie a lot of credit for our many wonderful tours through Japan. However, there have been times when I was quite concerned about our hotel arrangements and where we would be forced to sleep. However, this time she came through...

When our driver pulled-up to the Marriott in Bangkok, I was quite surprised that we would e staying here. Afterall, it had running water, beds and even our own private bathroom. It is amazing what you come to appreciate during these travels.

After travelling and flying for more than 28 hours, we had finally made it to Bangkok and were tucked away in our nice little hotel.
